What It Means to Be Part of Goldrush Hockey
The Goldrush Experience
We believe skill is built, not found. Players develop when the standard is clear and the work is consistent — planned practices, honest coaching, weekly skill sessions and video review that teaches them to read the game, not just play it. We coach players to think the game, to compete for each other, and to honor it — moving the puck, competing hard every shift, and carrying themselves with respect for their teammates, their opponents and the officials. Our players meet that standard by showing up every week, working, and staying coachable. Progress over perfection — that’s how Goldrush builds hockey players, and people.
From the moment players step on the ice, they are part of something bigger than just a team. They train in a fast-paced, high-energy environment where every practice is designed to challenge and improve their skills. Players receive detailed coaching, real-time feedback, and the opportunity to compete against top talent. Off the ice, they build friendships, confidence, and leadership skills that carry far beyond hockey.
What we ask of players
- Full effort at every practice and game.
- Attend every practice, game and team event unless excused in advance by the head coach.
- Be coachable: take instruction and correction without excuses.
- Support your teammates, whether or not you agree with a decision. Team success comes first.
- Represent Goldrush, your family and yourself with class — in victory and in defeat.
What we ask of families
- Cheer, don’t coach. Encouragement from the stands; coaching decisions belong to the coaching staff.
- The 24-hour rule: playing time, line assignments and in-game decisions are discussed with a coach no sooner than 24 hours after a game.
- Concerns follow the chain: player to coach, then team manager, then head coach, then club management.
- Represent Goldrush well at every rink, hotel and tournament — with officials, opponents and other families.
What you get in return
- A coaching staff that plans every session and holds itself to the same standard it holds players to.
- Weekly shooting and video-review sessions for every team, a dedicated dryland trainer and a club goaltending coach.
- A full SCAHA travel season, with one home rink for every practice and home game.
- A club that tells you what it expects, and expects it of itself first.
